Strain Gauges 2 (ENC-STR15H)

Description

Measuring with Strain Gauges

Course 2 in accordance with VDI/VDE-MT 2636 (previous GESA)

In this training to become a certified strain gauge measurement engineer, you will learn the tools for professional measurement with strain gauges. Learn how to connect strain gauges expertly, compensate for temperatures effects and much more. Upon completion of this seminar, you will have mastered planning, instrumentation and implementation of measurements with strain gauges.

Topics included

  • Methods of adjusting amplifiers and calibrating the measuring point
  • From measured strain to mechanical stress
  • Basic principles of uniaxial and biaxial stress states
  • Compensation for temperature effects
  • Strain gauge connections in 2, 3 and 4-wire configuration
  • Working with numerous measuring points
  • Estimating measurement uncertainty
  • Project planning
  • Working principles of amplifiers
  • Instrument lab: Configuring and calibrating measurement chains
  • Overall error evaluation
  • As part of the seminar you will have the opportunity to complete the final examination to become a strain gauge measurement engineer in accordance with VDI/VDE-MT (previous GESA).

Target Group

Everyone who would like to plan, conduct or evaluate SG measurements themselves.

Requirements

Familiarity with installing strain gauges. We recommend first attending the seminar "Strain Gauge Installation (SG 1)".
