Data Acquisition - Interfaces, Synchronization, and Multi-Channel Systems
Synchronized measured values are the prerequisite for correct subsequent analyses. This seminar, which includes a large proportion of practical work, will teach you what you need to know about the material.
Do you want to measure across multiple channels and systems – synchronously and in real time? What is the best way to achieve this? In this seminar, we will show you several possibilities.
Also, in our online seminars you can expect a balanced mix with theory and a lot of practical examples. In the theoretical part you will acquire the necessary knowledge. And, in many demonstration experiments, as well as in exchange with the trainer and the group you will consolidate what you have learned. Discussions are appreciated! HBK Academy ONLINE courses are delivered in real-time with an instructor available to answer questions.
Topics included
- Synchronisation in multi-channel systems and heterogeneous measurement chains
- Internal synchronization via FireWire (IEEE1494b) or optical interface
External synchronization via Ethernet (NTP, PTPv2)Internal/external synchronization sources (GPS / IRIG-B)Synchronization and triggeringExplanations of terms, handling, and a performance comparisonMobile data acquisitionSetting up remote access connections via Ethernet (IP address, Subnet, DHCP APIPA)Data logging and data storage (continuous, event-controlled, statistical)Data transfer (FTP server, cloud integration, push notification)Explanations of terms, handlingData transfer via industrial Ethernet and Fieldbus systemsData transfer types and network topologiesComparison of industrial Ethernet and fieldbus systems (real-time requirement)Connecting HBM measuring instruments to CAN and PROFIBUSSetting up EtherCAT and PROFINET connectionsTarget Group
Anyone who wants to acquire measured data digitally while preventing errors and being on the safe side.
Requirements
The courses "Data Acquisition - Sensor Connection and Amplifier Principles (DAQ 1)" and "Data Acquisition Systems - Setting the Parameters Correctly (DAQ 2)" are recommended and basic familiarity with mechanics and electrical engineering desirable. These skills can be acquired in the seminars Basic Technical Mechanics Knowledge and Basic Principles of Electrical Engineering for Non-Electrical Engineers.
